Awesome! Congrats Tom! What a great deal, and certainly a generous offering from all who contributed and for those who bid.
Well done Peter!

I thank all who donated to this project also, a lot of goodies in this package. As soon as I finish the granadillo build from Hibdon, it may be time to start on this one. I have been, and am part of other forums related to other interests that I have, but this is by far the best. I have learned so much from all of you, and the learning is not just about construction of guitars! The best is learning to give freely of your knowledge, experience and even little things that you have offered to me to help in a particular build, plans for fret benders, tracings of guitars, etc, etc, all gratis! What a great bunch of folks.
Peter, let me know how to get the $ to you. I'll get it out today!
Tom Harbin, a happy OLFer
Merry Christmas to all, I hope we will all look for other ways to give!

Hey Tom, I was just noticing your avatar...you and Craig Lavin should be able to come up with something great for that headstock!

Don: I hope so. I also love to scuba dive. Craig has done one for me so far, a manta ray headstock inlay. It is on a 00 sunburst guitar that is almost done. The manta turned out great!   I can't wait to see what he can come up with. Tom

A Manta...No Way! I have been trying to come up with a consept for thar...I would love to see that inlay. My wife and I dove with Mantas a few times in thailand and have become one of my favourite marine creatures. Post up Tom!

Shane: I also have been diving with the mantas twice
off the Kona coast; words cannot describe the experience! The first time one came real close with that bath tub size mouth open in my face feeding on plankton, I was both a little nervous and a bunch in awe. Glad I was diving in a rental wet suit!
Merry Christmas to you! Tom

You are right they are truly incredible. We sat on the boat one evening watching "fly" right out of the water...just spectacular! They love to swim just above you and hve your bubbles bounce off there belly's, a creature totally free in there own environment. One of motto's is "as long as there are still Manta's, we all still have a chance!" They will definatley be a theme for a future guitar of mine also. Would still love you post picks of your guitar, complete with inlay, when ready!

Shane
